Dear Steve Jobs,

As we already know there has been a huge amount of coverage over the failure of the iPhone 4 release. Yes I am calling it a failure. If anyone knows me, they know I am a die hard Apple fan and I have been let down. I have just choked on my Apple flavored kool-aid.

Coming from a telecommunications background centered around testing and implementation, I have to ask, “How could have Apple screwed up sow badly?”

Where is the “Quality Control”?

Mr. Jobs did you even use the device before WWDC?

I know this may seem a bit harsh but Apple needs to be held to account. Apple wants to drive how we use technology then you should be willing to take the blame when it falls over. I am not talking about any one major issue it is all of the small ones collectively. The antenna issue, the yellow spots/bands and the misplaced volume buttons. Apple needs to wake up. It smells when you go to the toilet. Then the issue with pre-ordering has just made this product launch the laughing stock of the technology industry.

I do have faith Apple will overcome this challenge but there are a few things Apple needs to do:

1. Give free iPhone 4 bands to all current and future purchasers of the current iPhone 4 hardware version
2. Replace or repair any  iPhone 4 that has the volume buttons reversed at no cost.
3. If the yellow spots/bands don’t go way in time replace the phone
4. Stop counting on AT&T…If you would get other carriers your market share would go through the roof.

Mr. Jobs please ensure that this is made right. Don’t count on customers forgetting about it when another product announcement comes along. Apple has the every thing it needs to continue leading in innovation and to continue the legacy you and Woz started in the 70′s. To achieve that Apple must do better.

I look forward to your reply. :)

With Tough Love,
